COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The king of the abbey beers. It is amber-gold and pours with a deep head and original aroma, delivering a complex, full bodied flavour. Pure enjoyment! Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Temp: 8-10ºC)

Poured out of the big bottle into a Westmalle glass. A dull golden color with a half finger of white head. Mild smelling; honey and sweets. It tastes heady, you can feel the alcohol lurking in the background. Bread, light malt and mild hop bitterness at the end. Light to medium bodied with lots of carbonation, which is not bad... leaves tingles on the tongue. What I find unique and enjoyable about most Belgium beers is their texture. They seem to play that part stronger than most other beers. I thought that was the strongest part of this one...

Cloudy golden with minimal head. Aroma is strong butterscotch. Flavor is butterscotch, with some fruitiness that mostly sticks to the swallow. Aftertaste is (surprise) butterscotch. It’s not bad, but definitely nothing special.

Brown cork and caged 750ml bottle, best before 17th Jan 2010, drank on one of my Belgian Beer Nights in Aug 2008. Middle of the road triple from a middle of the road brewery. Normal golden colour, big white head. Poured into various tulip and challice glasses, it looked fine. Aroma came with the regular hop, Belgian yeast and hay/grass typical of this style. 8.5% Alcohol comes through in the taste and mouthfeel, doesn’t dominate, but it is there for all to feel. Nothing wrong, but it is just another triple to tick off as having tried.

Aroma is belgian yeast, clove, lemon, vanilla, bread. Appearance is golden brown, hay color. Huge head and heavy carbonation. Taste is belgian, candied sugar, clove, corriander, pear, peppery spicy hops, vanilla. Sweet malty beer. Alcohol present but hidden well. Palate is medium. Bright but not quite crisp. Overall a nice beer, but there are others that I enjoy much more for the style.

Slightly overrated tripel in my opinion. Decent taste but too bitter and to little depth.
