sweet malt with a surprising amount of banana esters from the yeast. nice mellow belgian complexity.

------- Fresh it has more alcohol warmth, more hop character, and different esters, like orange instead of banana.

Sweetness and alcohol, not my thing. Definitely won’t have this again, there are a lot of beer I’d rather drink.

Hazy orange beer, thin white head. Sweetish aroma. Lots of crystal malt flavor to it, finishes with an earthy, fairly dry flavor with a bit of hop at the end. Not my favorite tripel, but a very good one.

750ml into tulip is medium hazy golden with thin zesty bubbles from start to finish. Smells of bready yeasts and fresh apple, peach, apricot. Tastes very clean abd freash, yeasts, fruits, medium alcohol. medium body with good zesty carbonation start to finish, medium alcohol warmth, nice dryness in the finish. A great example of the style. Very worthy. I’d tip a few more if not for the 8.5% abv.

smell: hops, hay,yeast, wheats, sweetness, bitterness, bit of sweet malts, some vintage appearance , bit of alcohol, softness
taste: start is yeast and hops with an overall sweet background that follows all tastes in the beer, rest is bit of bitterness , some malts, and a tiny bit of alcohol, overall a good drinkable tripel and easly to drink, even for a 8.5 abv !!

Ezt még olaszországi kiruccanásom alkalmával sikerült beszereznem. Hazafele megálltunk még valami bevásárló központféleségben. Korgott is a gyomrom rendesen. Venni is akartam valami rágcsálnivalót utolsó euróimból. De valami (biztos az éhség) mégis a sörpult elé vezetett engem. Tette ezt annak ellenére, hogy azidáig az olasz sörök nem muzsikáltak olyan fényesen. És akkor megláttam e serremeket. Muszáj volt. Hidgyétek el. Ilyet itthon nem kapni. Pedig már rengeteg belga befurakodta már magát hozzánk. De ez pont nem. Béla egyből kiszúrja: ez már régebb óta támadja az agysejteket mint a Liberty (1975). Pontosan 1094 óta. Röpke 901 esztendő telt el úgy, hogy e sör ívói még csak nem is hallottak a Horgonyos sörről. Ez legyen az ő bajuk. Beérhették ennyivel is. Béla újabb érdekességre hívja fel figyelmem: Fény felé tartja az üveget és mutatja mijen nagy darabok úszkálnak benne. És tényleg. De hát ez már csak így van, ha nem szűrik le a sört. Biztos ezért hívják szűretlennek:) Ahogy megkóstoljuk, egyszerre konstatáljuk, hogy belgasöríze van. Ami annyit tesz, hogy a sörmesterek nem tudták kordában tartani az alkoholt, és ez teljes egészében eluralkodik a sörön. Szerencsére ennél a példánynál ez nem annyira erős, mint néhány eszeveszetten brutális fejlövésnél: Primátor, vagy egyes más belga példányok, mint például a Delirium. De így is 9% fölötti alkoholtartalommal bír. Amúgy szintén kicsit citrusos háttérkísérettel rendelkezik, és igen vaskos teste van. Habja is erős, szinte alig tud átfolyni rajta a nedű, hogy beteljesítse küldetését és szomjunkat oltsa.

Hazy golden pour with a creamy head, which remains filmy. Fruity, grainy and spicy nose. Sharp and slick mouthfeel, malty aroma of cereals, bread, citrus and koriander. The sweet flavour is orange-liked, the moderate bitter, but long finish brings spice, citrus and alcohol along, which remains in a sweet-tart/spicy aftertaste. The alcohol is adequately hidden, so it’s easy drinkable, overall a fine and delicious one.

from a corked 750ml brown bottle dated 22.04.12, poured a dense gold with continuous bubbles and a frothy white head. Pleasant aroma followed by more impressive soft malty flavor with slightly complex finish. Late alcohol punch (lable says 9.5 abv). Found at Gran Caffe Roma in Via Veneto 30-32, along with interesting competitors on the shelves. Very smooth and easy-drinking where qualities show themselves from start to finish.
