COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The king of the abbey beers. It is amber-gold and pours with a deep head and original aroma, delivering a complex, full bodied flavour. Pure enjoyment! Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Temp: 8-10ºC)

One of the best tripels available and widely available at that. Brownish gold coloration, thick head, and a wonderfully sweet taste. Tried first in 2007.

Bottle 330ml at Mendibil (Irun). Masterpiece. Aromas of caramel, cheese, and dough. Taste is sweet and sour, very long. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Yellow, cloudy, with a thin head.

33cl bottle poured into an Achel Trappist glass. Deep amber with two fingers thick creamy off-white head that quickly dissipates. A lot of yeast sediment. Aroma is spices, candy sugar, and yeast. Flavor is fresh fruit, spiciness, bread, with a nice warming alcohol kick. Palate is a thick and a bit sticky with moderate carbonation. Nice beer.

(750ml bottle) hazy deep golden pour, effervescent bubbles, and a long lasting creamy tan head with excellent lacing. Nose is peppery, Belgian yeast, golden raisins, cream, quite complex, smells excellent and perfect to style. Taste is also peppery, spicy Belgian yeast, alcohol, golden raisins and other dried fruits. Carbonation is spot on, very carbonated, fairly dry, and linger of dried fruits.

Bottled, 330ml from Hopduvel Warehouse, Ghent. Hazed gold with white head. Really spicy, yeasty on the nose leading to quite a sweet, fuity, yeasty beer with plenty of added spice. The alcohol shows through the sugared body, giving a candy, burning note. Full and characterful, very pleasant.

Bottle poured into snifter. The bold smell of this beer is what hits first. The lofty head allows it to fill the glass and really makes you want to take a sip. The caramel aroma is most prominent to me. The color is murky gold. Almost a yellow/orange amber. There is a slight haze but certainly not cloudy. Light sits in the fluid. Taste is smooth and well rounded. Mostly sweet but not overly sugary. v Very even flavor. The carbonation is low. Medium to full body but slick in texture. The finish is long and very powerful. Overall, this beer tastes like beer to me (and I mean that in a great way). There is no prevailing additive flavor or ingredient. This beer tastes like a perfect balance of malt and hop to make a smooth bold taste. Very well crafted.
