Raphael__N (154), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 26, 2007 Bottle shared with a friend. Golden pour. Fair amount of head, with a fresh scent of cumin, coriander and apples on the nose. Taste is dominantly of bananas and citrus, along with malt and spices. Much better than the rest of Affligem’s offerings by a fair margin.
yespr (5521), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 6, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge white, creamy and slowly collapsing head. Subdued spiced, light caramel malt note and mild yeasty in a fine mix meets the nose as the first impression. Flavour starts sweet and delicate fruity, slowly going into a more spiced and dry flavour yet still with a nice level of caramel. Dry and spiced finish, yet smooth and nice in texture and into the finish flavour. azlondon (461), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Cloudy orangy brown. Good amount of white head.
Aroma: Pretty sweet. Fruity. Alcohol. Flowers?
Taste: Lemon and quite bitter. Alcohol, warming. Some fruit. Unpleasant aftertaste.
Info: 330ml bottle, 27/6-2007 Tmoney99 (3414), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle from Rivers Bend. Poured hazy orange color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Complex spicy fruit and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium citrus balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a refreshing standout beer. BeerEssential (77), Massachusetts, USA Jun 24, 2008 Starts off with a fluffy white head with a slightly cloudy golden body. The head doesn’t last too long, though. The scent is fruit mixed with alcohol and has a taste to match. The beer ends with a bitter aftertaste. Once this brew has had time to warm up the alcohol becomes more noticeable and takes on an almost rum-type flavour. Overall, I found this tripel a bit too harsh for my liking. kiefdog (305), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 22, 2008 75cl bottle from Publix Supermarkets (Tampa, FL). Rated on 3/18/08. Pours a semi-clear golden with white, frothy head. Smells of yeast, bread, straw, faint hint of citrus and raisin. Flavor is a little sweet with notes of ripe fruit, hops, yeast and grass. Quick finish with a somewhat light to medium body.
