on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark amber color, one-finger white head, a curtain of lace. Aroma of hops and light malt. Taste is malt with orange and grass that becomes more bitter on the swallow, but never gives up the tart citrus. A refreshing brew, full-bodied and satisfying.

Draft: Pours clear, dark amber with a small white head. Blood orange scent. Malty, orange pulp taste.....nice, deep orange-peel bitter. Almost salty-feeling at finish. Very good.

Watching the artist sketch out this beer’s teaser on the chalkboard sold me more than the name. A fruity vibe makes this stand out as the most sessionable of that day’s drafts. If I would had not purchased about a half dozen other bottles for tasting earlier that day I might have tried to take some home. With Mikkeller’s recent announcements maybe it will not be long before this comes back.

Aroma / Appearance - A bronze semitransparent core glimmers as wisps of white head swirl atop like clouds blown across the sky in a strong breeze. Blood oranges, citrus, and other fruitiness tether themselves to a malty core that binds the whole profile together.

Flavor / Palate - Pulped blood oranges remind me of drinking fresh squeezed orange juice paired with a bowl of Wheaties. The smooth transition carries all the way to a long lasting finish. The light bitterness tickles the throat without being harsh. I’d have no problems downing a full pint of this.

On Draught
Pours a deep golden with a good sized head & some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is distinctly fresh cut oranges... with some character of blood orange to it. it’s aromatic, one noted and inviting... tame, chill, neat... ok.

The flavor has plenty of blood orange but it’s also decently aggressive in bitterness. Which works just great considering the bitterness of the fruit. There are mild malty notes but generally this beer is about hoppiness accentuating blood orange character.

On tap at Ridgewood (Raleigh). Amber with an ever-do-slight reddish tint. Malt and hop aroma. Taste is a big complex - better than your average pilsner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2014 Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #28. Draft at County Club. Pours a slightly hazy red-orange color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of big citrus notes, pale malt, mild breadiness, faint herbal hops. The taste is citrus, pith, pale malts, hoppy finish. Medium bodied, fairly bright, slight lingering bitterness, good balance.

Very interesting. Bitter hoppiness right up front and throughout. Slightly sweet but has a really strange mouthfeel, light and sharp. I'm pretty much indecided about this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Poured clear copper color with moderate fizzy white color head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good sweet fruit aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate sweet flavor with a moderate sweet fruit bite finish of medium duration. Interesting beer.

Swing-top half growler from Party Source, filled about 4 hours ago. Labeled as a "blood orange pilsener". Clear orange copper color. Good thin white head. Nice spread of dotty lace. Smooth, very light carbonation. Lightly dry texture. Very easy drinking. Nice mild tart taste, pretty refreshing. I dig the blood orange flavor, kind of some tart raspberry notes to it. Tasty, drinkable, refreshing stuff.
