COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not your typical "Jelly of the Month Club" beer. Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of English Kent Goldings hops provides a counterpoint to this ale’s rich and complex maltiness.

From Farmhouse on tap. Aroma of chocolate. Dark brown/black with off white head. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and caramel tastes. Slight creamy body. Overall, I enjoyed this Kentucky stout and I’m wanting to taste more from this brewery.

Transitioning to the darker and heavier end of the spectrum I was looking forward to a great beer. This was an excellent sweet stout despite the unusually warm weather. I may have to keep my eye out for more sweet stouts as the season changes.

Aroma / Appearance - The medium black base is like melted handfuls of chocolate. Soft and agile it glides around the glass. The nose is like a fine glass of melted chocolate paired with skim milk. Malts drive the entire profile.

Flavor / Palate - Milk, creamer, and coffee blend well. Baker’s chocolate carries the body to a chewy finish. A robust winter warmer works well regardless of the temperature outside.

Draft. Deep brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Flavor follows with some light residual sweetness and a light mineral quality in the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Solid except for the slight mineral taste.

Draught at brewery. Milk stout taste but seriously countered by a big chocolate roast and dark body. The lactose and the chocolate come together nicely.

35k... Deep silky black stouty pour and topped with a thin wispy light tan head... Belgian yeast and chocolate note minus the roast qualities from the flavor profile although some comes through as it warms ... Flavors are predominantly sweet with chocolate and a mild coffee roast. Decadent smooth but al ittle sweet. Creamy body and the best enjoyed brew of the evening. 7/4/8/4/15

on draft and second tasting of this beer. pours black and heady.. aroma of roasted malts, coffee and bits of chocolate. the taste is the same and its quite good for a milk stout. the sweetness is tempered in this and its very inviting and good. hope to get more of this from the brewery.
