COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not your typical "Jelly of the Month Club" beer. Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of English Kent Goldings hops provides a counterpoint to this ale’s rich and complex maltiness.

From Farmhouse on tap. Aroma of chocolate. Dark brown/black with off white head. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and caramel tastes. Slight creamy body. Overall, I enjoyed this Kentucky stout and I’m wanting to taste more from this brewery.

Bottle from Antioch Fine Wine. Pours black with tan head. Nose is bakers chocolate, light licorice, espresso, some caramel and brown sugar. Interesting complex blend. Taste is dark chocolate, caramel, espresso, molasses, and cocoa. With creamy milk. Medium to full bodied. Finishes sweetly bitter with a nice blend of the two - leaning to the bitter side, but creamy. Just a bit more depth and would be a wonderful impy stout. First AtG - will find more. 15.2

Black pour with a very thin espresso head. Sweet aroma with hints of chocolate and roasted grain. Medium mouth. Taste is pretty sweet but finishes bitter. Great roast component full of bitter dark chocolate and espresso beans. One of the better milk stouts I’ve had. One flaw is the mouth is a little on the light side.

Relative straight forward stout with nice roast, char, and earthy notes. I would consider this an Imperial dry stout more than anything. It is what it is and there is nothing wrong with that.... Sweet Stout? UR kidding right?

Bottle at Prohibition in Powell on 1/17/15. Darkest brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, dark fruit and licorice. Malty flavor with rich chocolate accents, dark fruit and licorice before a roasty finish.

Damn I like this. Pours gorgeous jet black with tan frothy head. Smells like sticky sweet coffee and cocoa. Taste is super sweet from the lactose, which compliments the chocolate and coffee flavors very nicely. Plenty of vanilla notes as well, with a nice little bitter bite at the end. This is really a desert beer, but it’s SOOOO good.

Pours a jet black with 2 fingers of head. Nose is great, body is great, flavor profile could use a bit more. It’s a very good beer just not terribly complex.

22 oz bottle from Party Source at home. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have milk and dark chocolate, mild roasted coffee, yeast, lactose sweetness, a splash of caramel, some mild earthy hops and a hint of mineral character, overall a decent milk stout.
