Taking awesome and doubling it can only be double awesome. It’s math. This is essentially the 35K recipe doubled. Double roasty, double chocolatey, double creamy, double delicious. Then we decided to make it 2.5X awesome by aging it in Angel’s Envy barrels for a really, really long time. The bourbon and oak flavors perfectly compliment the massive flavors in the double mega imperial milk stout. You don’t swim in this beer, it swims in you!

On tap @ The Drunk Monk, Mataro - Spain. Color: deep dark black beer with small carbonation and small ivory brown head. Smell: roasted malt, caramel and coffee complexity. Very rich nose, barrel notes. Chocolate and sweet finish. Taste: full body with roasted malt and coffee with chocolate domination. Mocha presence. Superb finish and quiet easy drinkable. Aftertaste: chocolate and coffee, barrel notes. Superb taste.

From notes. 4-5 ish oz pour on draft at FoBAB on November 21. The pour is a muddier dark brown with a decent tan head that takes a little while to recede, leaving a light lace. The aroma is really sweet and milky up front. There is no denying the lactose here. The chocolate and heavy roast try to balance it out, but then there is a wet oak from the barrel that mind of messes that niceness up. It’s a little boozy, but I was hoping for a lot more balance with this. The flavor is equally as sweet up front. The chocolate and roast try to conceal the heavy alcohol before slowly letting it through. There is a little bit of a fruitiness that’s well received. The mouth feel is a little light, softly carbonated, but thin. The aftertaste is lingeringly sweet lactose and cocoa, to go along with a decent dose of barrel and bourbon. It wasn’t bad by any means, but I was hoping for a lot more here.

Draft at Rattle n’ Hum West with Brendan. Pours a deep dark brown body with thick tan lacing. Nose is sweet chocolate, vanilla bean and soft spice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, verging on thick and syrupy. Nice rich, decadent stout.

On tap @ Against The Grain. Very dark brown, almost black in color with some khaki foam. Lots of rich, sweet chocolate and vanilla. Kind of like a ganache and chocolate cake thing to it. Some sweetness of caramel, light smoke, and a bit of booze. The flavor has a bit of a boozy, green apple twang to it that I don’t care for, but it does have good roast and chocolate flavors along with a fairly good sweetness. Comes off as a little bit dusty on the finish.

No head. Dark black. Real flavorful. Strong dark cherry chocolate flavor. Smells like fermented Mexican hot chocolate. Hard to describe almost a mahogany flavor. Luxurious piece of dark chocolate.
