Taking awesome and doubling it can only be double awesome. Itís math. This is essentially the 35K recipe doubled. Double roasty, double chocolatey, double creamy, double delicious. Then we decided to make it 2.5X awesome by aging it in Angelís Envy barrels for a really, really long time. The bourbon and oak flavors perfectly compliment the massive flavors in the double mega imperial milk stout. You donít swim in this beer, it swims in you!

Pours black with tan head that rings around the glass. From draft. Sweet whiskey aroma. Molasses in nose and taste. Fig and dried plum with toasty malt in the finish. Slight alchy heat as well.

On tap at Apex, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lactose notes, chocolate, oak and roast. Flavour packs some serious heat, with loads of alcoholic boozy heat, wood, roasted malt, lactose and cocoa. Quite boozy, packing quite the burn, though well-structured. Drinkable in very small amounts. Good stuff.

Thanks to the wife for agreeing to head over the Argosy, where this was pouring, for dinner. Pours nearly black with minimal head. Candy, booze, chocolate, coffee, and smoke on the nose. Big sweet front with nice carbonated hop back. Thick. Flat in appearance, but surprisingly well carbonated. Draft - Argosy - Atlanta, GA

Very nice. What I like is that the aging is apparent, but doesn't overwhelm. As such the base stout comes through nicely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at uber. Pours jet black with virtually no head or lace. Big roasty earthy chocolatey nose. Sticky thick body, low carb. Earthy sweet roasty chocolatey mid palate. Long earthy finish.

On tap @ Uber. Pours thick pitch black with super thin mocha head. Aroma is giant dark roasty chocolate malt, aged bourbon, and strong coffee, booze emanating from it. The nose on this beer jumps out of the glass... Taste is big juicy chocolate, rich creamy malt, light soy sauce notes, just enough hops to keep things in balance, and thick sweet bourbon flavor that lingers in the finish. Huge beer. Not quite as nuanced as the best imperial stouts, but this is appropriately large and flavorful. Monster beer. This has piqued my interest in Against the Grain...

On tap. Almost black with a light head and good lacing. Lots of chocolate, vanilla, grain and a good bit of bourbon. Rich and creamy. A big bold beer.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2014 Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #8. Draft at The Beer Trappe, Lexington. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, whiskey. The taste is big bourbon notes, wood, roasted malts, bitter chocolate, vanilla. Medium bodied, decent balance. Alcohol presence is there but not over the top. Nice beer.
