Taking awesome and doubling it can only be double awesome. It’s math. This is essentially the 35K recipe doubled. Double roasty, double chocolatey, double creamy, double delicious. Then we decided to make it 2.5X awesome by aging it in Angel’s Envy barrels for a really, really long time. The bourbon and oak flavors perfectly compliment the massive flavors in the double mega imperial milk stout. You don’t swim in this beer, it swims in you!

Draft to taster. Looks good; a dark cola with beige lacing. Smells solid; dark malt, chocolate, and bourbon. Tastes like it smells with a solid (albeit a little hot) mouthfeel. Good beer.

05/07/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (handpump). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma scurissima, color cappuccino, abbondante e persistente. Naso caffettoso-dolciastro, intensissimo, note di cioccolato e di vaniglia. In bocca è dolciastra, cioccolatosa, leggera nota di lattosio, morbida, i 13 gradi letteralmente impercettibili, equilibratissima. Corpo pieno, carbonazione leggera. Non fa gridare al miracolo, ma è davvero un gran bel prodotto!

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is a load of chocolate, booze, and molasses. Body is creamy and smooth. Alcohol is covered, but certainly present. Taste is rather sweet. Loads of chocolate. Some woodiness. Pretty good. Considering I was also given a bunch of samplers of this afterwards, so it is actually pretty drinkable.

32oz growler, from Lexington Beerworks. Shared with DanielCoor about 4-5 hours later. Deep, dark brown color, a little bit of light gets through around the edges. Nice little light brown head, bits of lace. Wow. Super nice aroma in the nose. Less obvious vanilla than you get in your typical bourbon barrel stout nose. It’s more rich, like a rich dark chocolate velvety dessert cake. Wow. The flavor is super. I was expecting at least some sort of bite, but there’s no hint of the alcohol. No burn, no bite. It’s not even close to being too sweet. There’s some moderate sweetness, but a good light to moderate bitterness, as well. In the finish there’s a big amount of coffee - roasted malts in the aftertaste that contribute to that nice bitterness. Good big chewiness to the texture. Bigger body. Very light carbonation. Some nice (light chocolate milky) creaminess, maybe a little whipped cream flavor. Light hint of brown sugar. Super, super good stuff
