COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is not candy or mother’s milk. It is not brewed by gypsies or aliens, nor does it contain any zombie dirt. This is an American Style IPA brewed with Citra Hops. It is citrusy, sticky, hoppy and delicious. Simply drink it and enjoy it. Don’t hoard this beer, Citra Ass Down and drink it now.

(Online description:) This is a very hop forward American style IPA. Brewed with Pale, Vienna, Munich and wheat malt for a solid base for all American hops, focusing mainly on the variety “Citra.” Citra hops are a relatively new variety introduced in 2008. It was bred as a hybrid of a number of different hops, including Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, U.S. Tettnanger, East Kent Golding, Bavarian, Brewers Gold, and other unknown hops. The resulting hop, Citra, has a distinct citrusy and tropical fruit flavor and aroma. In Citra ass down we used American Columbus for bittering and 11# of Citra at the end of the boil for late kettle addition flavor and aroma. Then we added 6 more pounds Citra and 5# Centennial post fermention for aroma. Rebrewed for your tasting pleasure!

Can. Clear amber gold with a small off white head that lasts in a ring and laces some. Aromas of juicy peach, mango, biscuit, yeast and light pine notes. Flavor is peach and mango upfront, light biscuit and yeast with some offsetting pine. Medium bodied, smooth and juicy with a dry end.

Nice one. Deep orange color. Citrus flies off it with Tangerine mango and pineapple. But also some floral aspects. Medium body. Masks well.

Flaska. Härlig doft med malt ofrukt med inslag av jordkällare o gödsel. Smaken krämig men dock något tunn i mitten. Visst känns citrusen men det finns nästan kaffe känsla i smaken . Beskan svag.

Solid citrus (tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple) and maybe mango in the aroma and taste. easy drinking for a big’n. ATG prices in bottles scare me off a lot of the time, and this is no exception. One timer, unless it’s cheaper in another format.

Poured into a snifter. 3.0 A: Clear medium orange color. One finger of creamy white head. Retention is below average and a short ring of lacing is left. 3.5 S: Citra really is a miracle hop. Big tropical fruitiness featuring papaya, mango, pineapple, and orange. The malts are pretty mellow. Light breadiness with caramel malts. 3.75 T: The taste is even more mellow, which is a nice change from the typical IPA. Mild bitterness, light tropical fruits per above, mild breadiness and caramel. 4.0 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lovely, silky creaminess makes this supremely smooth. 4.25 D: This isn’t a flavor bomb like most IPAs. Rather, it’s simple and mellow, but it works oh so well. So incredibly drinkable. ★ 752 characters DavoleBomb, Oct 01, 2015

16 oz. can, consumed on 2-14-16. Pours an initially clear but later hazy bronze. Highly effervescent. Moderate to large amount of cream-colored head. Decent to good lacing. Tangerine and clementine scents. Excessively citric aroma. Also excessively sweet maltiness, as too often occurs with double IPAs. Orange, dank, juicy taste features a lemon flavor. Cotton candy, orange peel, and apricot. Pleasant taste at first, but then the amount of flavor becomes excessive. Sugary and over-the-top. Poorly balanced. I like aspects but dislike others. Orange aftertaste that I don’t enjoy. Medium body. Smooth in the palate. Doesn’t showcase the funky, dank aspect of Citra that I like best.

A real treat. I had this fresh as daisies on tap at Schouskjelleren in Oslo. Very floral, rapier hops zest, nice and tropical. A real American IPA. I almost got the feeling I had to chew down on some pop/candy rocks. I have later on had it in bottle as well. Not quite as fresh perhaps, but I remember the wonderful artwork on the label very well.

Can. This is a nice hoppy IPA with a little bit of a rough edge that i really like. All around good beer.

Not overly hop forward on the nose but some good spiciness and sweetness on the tongue. Decent prickly bitterness in the mouth with is clean and quenching. Nothing too complex but still a good honest beer.
