This beer is not candy or mother’s milk. It is not brewed by gypsies or aliens, nor does it contain any zombie dirt. This is an American Style IPA brewed with Citra Hops. It is citrusy, sticky, hoppy and delicious. Simply drink it and enjoy it. Don’t hoard this beer, Citra Ass Down and drink it now.

(Online description:) This is a very hop forward American style IPA. Brewed with Pale, Vienna, Munich and wheat malt for a solid base for all American hops, focusing mainly on the variety “Citra.” Citra hops are a relatively new variety introduced in 2008. It was bred as a hybrid of a number of different hops, including Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, U.S. Tettnanger, East Kent Golding, Bavarian, Brewers Gold, and other unknown hops. The resulting hop, Citra, has a distinct citrusy and tropical fruit flavor and aroma. In Citra ass down we used American Columbus for bittering and 11# of Citra at the end of the boil for late kettle addition flavor and aroma. Then we added 6 more pounds Citra and 5# Centennial post fermention for aroma. Rebrewed for your tasting pleasure!

Tap @ BrewDog Clerkenwell, small sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of citrus, bit pine, cookie malt. Medium bitterness, slight cookie sweetness. Lovely. Had it even fresher before, which was even better. Great stuff.

This draft brew from a bottle shop poured a head of frothy fine to large sized white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a uncarbonated hazy light yellow orange colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was musty and wheat. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of Irish red malt and breads. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Elements of caramel, citrus, grass and apricots as well Body: medium with lively bubbles. Parting thoughts: A nice big hop in your face IPA.

Pours hazy and dark copper with fluffy, off white head. Aroma is maltier than expected with some pine and caramel. Flavor is more of the same. A lot maltier than the style. Some piney and light citrus in the burp, but mostly a hoppy barleywine...which I like but not spot on for the style. Good beer though.
