North German Pils
It’ll leave a Deutschmark!
Pils is arguably the most successful beer style in the world. Nine out of ten beers imbibed in our world today are made according to the Pilsner style or a style directly derived from it. So in the spirit of making beers that people want... We, at AtG, offer up der Knutschfleck Pils. This pale lager brewed from a blend of Best Pils and Cara-Pils malts. The delicate malt sweetness is balanced with bitterness and aroma derived from a blend of the noble hop varieties Spalt Select and Hallertau Mittelfruh. 10.8°

Tap. Berry malt and herbal hops aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Creamy berry malt and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. Very nice.

Draft sample. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The nose has pale malt, mild lemon citrus, yeast and a mildly spicy herbal hop presence. The flavor is pale biscuity malts, some citrus notes, and a nice bitterness to the finish. Light medium body with enough character to consider having one in between bigger beers.

Draft - growler. Poured a clear amber color with a moderate frothy white head that lasted and had good lacing. Medium floral hop and earthy malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This beer exceeded my expectations and pleased with first beer from this brewer.

A good introduction to a new brewery is its lighter styles. This one is passable for a session beer. It has enough flavor to be interesting but not enough to fill the stomach or tire the palate.

Aroma / Appearance - Transparent golden bubbles pops to the surface. Sparkling with carbonation the body contains the bright nose of lemon pledge, noble hops, and yeast.

Flavor / Palate - The moist impression refreshed the palate. Bitter like fall leaves after a light rainstorm the experience wakes up the palate. I’m looking forward to what else Against the Grain has to offer.
