COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heaven isn’t too far away, closer to it everyday. -Jani Lane
’Heaven, Maybe?!’ is a Belgian Dubbel. Twice is a Belgian Dubbel. A rich, malty and malty red colored Belgian style ale Brewed with German Pilsner, French Aromatic and Caramel malts and German Pilsner malts. The complex malty sweetness is accentuated by the addition of amber colored Belgian invert sugar and 10 pounds of pureed currents, raisins and currents. We then add just enough German noble hops to balance the complex sweetness from the sweet malt complexities. This beer is fermented with a Belgian Abbey yeast contributing the spicy, fruity and phenolic flavor with a dry, spicy and fruity finish. 17°

Aroma of belgian yeasts (which seem kinda gummy here), dough, light banana and cider. Appearance is caramel brown with tan head. Flavor matches the nose, but a significant amount subdued; the finish was overly boozy and lively- which seems strange for the style. The palate was lively; I missed the Belgian bubbles here. A strange one for me.

Tap sample. A - Poured a clear copper color with an averfage frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. S- Moderate to heavy floral, malt, yeast aroma. T - Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. M - Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. D - I would recommend this beer to a freind.

Changing directions it is obvious that Against the Grain knows how to make other styles better than some. This is a solid dubbel. It’s your above average Belgian coming from a new brewery in a state not known for its beer. There are better options but this is one worth checking out while in the area.

Aroma / Appearance - Caramel bronze with a light head the nose of candy sugar, caramel, malt, and cotton candy creates a feel like being at the county fair. Put together it smells like a Krispy Kreme donut.

Flavor / Palate - Chewy and rich the mouthfeel crawls around the mouth. Slightly overcarbonated it eats at the senses before settling down. Starting out with a promise it falls apart in the middle. Otherwise this would be an excellent and noteworthy addition to the regional scene.
