COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English style barleywine aged in Angelís Envy bourbon barrels. Brewed with enough Maris Otter pale, Aromatic and caramel malts to nearly overflow our mash tun. We then balanced this beer with some English Nugget and Kent Goldings hops. The resulting ale was sweet, nutty and powerful, but we didnít stop there. The entire batch was put into used Angelís Envy barrels for nearly 3 months to gather the residual bourbon flavor and some aromatic and drying oak notes. By the way, Balling is a measurement of specific gravity.

On Draught
Pours a hazy deep orange with a small head & some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is marmalade and toffee. It has some mild aromatic hops, some light bourbon character and plenty of vanilla.

The flavor is lots of cooked fruit & vanilla up front with some orange and citrus rind. Itís got lot so toffee with a good bourbon character. The beer has a nice balance of bitterness & sweetness... complex and enjoyable.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Foco for $9. Pours a murky orangish brown appearance with a tiny disappearing head. Tons of bourbon, caramel, vanilla, and coconut in the nose. Medium body. Pretty heavy booze. Grainy oak, vanilla, light pear, and lots of caramel in the mouth. Pretty dry. Kind of tannic. Not bad but not worth the price.

Bottle from Hop City when I visited Atlanta. Pours murky brownish amber into my glass with a small yellow khaki head. Nice aroma of sweet fruits, figs, some bron sugar, toffee, vanilla, light booze, and some cardboardyness. Flavor is caramel and fruit, vanilla bourbon, oak, brown sugar. Nice. Medium plus bodied, booze heat, and carbonation that is medium plus (maybe a bit much for the style). Tastes better than it smells. Pretty good stuff with heavy barrel notes.

Pours a murky brownish red with a touch of head. Nose is bourbon heavy taste while hot is beautifully balance. BABWís are about the best thing ever and this one works great. Nice leather plum tobacco malt bread flavor with a bourbon burn on the swallow. Iím a big fan of this one right here.

Pours deep hazy mahogany into a snifter. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Caramel, vanilla and resin aromas. Soft upfront with sweet oak and caramel turning to thick hot caramel and resin in the lasting bourbon burn finish.

Nice malty caramel aroma. Taste is coffee, caramel, malt and a little orange peel. Some alcohol but not much. Need to warm up a little for the best flavor.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a cloudy brown with no head. The aroma is strong booze, candy sugar, caramel. Thin mouthfeel with strong booze with candy sugar, booze, dark fruit. Very good.

Pours an opaque caramel/ruby color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has sweet caramel, toffee and candied fruits with a hint of bourbon...touch of vanilla. Flavor follows suit and steps up the bourbon and vanilla...slightly boozy...some earthy/oaky notes...very tasty! Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is warm and bourbony/oaky. Well done!

Bottle. Color is rusty with bubbly white head. Aroma of hops and honey. Taste follows some barrel but not much. Thin body sweet toffee.

Shared 12 oz. grenade-like bottle poured to snifters, showing a brownish amber hue, with a modest layer of off white head froth, foamy spots of lacing, a light, syrupy coating & leggy dots on the glass. The nose was lurking alcohol, barrel induced coconut, sweetness, and notes of stone & dried fruit. Medium bodied, with moderate carbonation, the taste was similar notes as the aroma, with notable alcohol, but subtle bourbon & oak nuances, and low hop bitterness. Not overly hefty for a BW, but tasty!
