COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not your typical "Jelly of the Month Club" beer. Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of English Kent Goldings hops provides a counterpoint to this ale’s rich and complex maltiness.

Black pour...not much aroma. Nice tan head that dissipates leaving behind a thin line that laces nicely. Sweet taste best achieved when room temperature.

Pours an opaque dark brown color almost black like oil with similar viscosity and khaki colored head. Roasted malts, chocolate, a little sweetness, and some toast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied and thick. Finishes with a cocoa, milk chocolate sweetness, but not too much, just the right amount. Solid.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey during the SAVOR Week 4 Hands / Against The Grain tap takeover, thanks to Kevin I think, or his buddy. Poured a black color with a small tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, chocolate. This was a bit more like an export stout than a sweet stout. Bakers chocolate finish.
