An India Pale Ale featuring Nelson Sauvin hops. Named after the Sauvignon Blanc grape, is a variety of hop developed and grown in New Zealand. It has a strong fruity flavor and aroma that is described as resembling white wine, or fresh crushed grapes or gooseberries. Some reviewers of this hop perceive the fruitiness as being very tropical with descriptions including passion fruit, tangerines, and grapefruit.

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours brassy gold with a white head. Soft Nelson tropical aromas. Smooth, med body. Flavor starts tropical, goes to light stone fruit, then develops a pretty firm hop burn. Maybe citrus/pine as well. There’s a very light. hardly noticeable caramel backbone. Real IPA here.

Bottle shared in NYC - big thanks to Sander! Pours hazy gold with a frothy white head. Pleasant pissy Nelson on the nose, some grapefruit and tangerine. Medium sweet flavor with understated pale bread, slight pine, tangerine meringue, grapefruit. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with some grass and pine bitterness, dried berries, orange rind. Good start though the bitterness is a bit harsh on the finish.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Hicksville Beer & Soda, 9/2/14

Aroma: The nose is heavy fruity and hoppy, nice tropical fruit and white wine
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a small head and average lacework
Flavor: The flavor is dry and fairly bitter, with a mid-to-late sweetness, and a dry finish
Palate: The body is medium, it has a smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: This is an interesting one. There’s a more typical tropical fruit hop presence over an underlying white wine flavor. Overall, it’s a pretty solid, enjoyable beer.

Mild lilly aroma. Hazy golden, thick lacy head. Lilly flavor, slightly vegetal, some grassiness. Kind of disappointing, given the price tag, but justified if you like nelson sauvin.

Bottle. Hazy light amber with a small head. Concentrated cantaloupe, lemon, honey. Taste is pretty abrasive. Oniony bitterness. Flower roots. Grass. Funky sea salt and dirt. Quite different than the nose suggests. Medium body, active carbonation. Decent.
