COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An India Pale Ale featuring Nelson Sauvin hops. Named after the Sauvignon Blanc grape, is a variety of hop developed and grown in New Zealand. It has a strong fruity flavor and aroma that is described as resembling white wine, or fresh crushed grapes or gooseberries. Some reviewers of this hop perceive the fruitiness as being very tropical with descriptions including passion fruit, tangerines, and grapefruit.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a uncarbonated transparent light orange colored body and a good lacing. The odd aroma was floral and musty. The off-tasting mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish with a mellow aftertaste. The odd tasting flavor contained notes of floral hops and malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

Bomber into a large tulip. Bottle says its a dips at 8.2abv distinctly. Pours a marmalade orange honey syrup. Head is light, thin lacing, and faintly coating the glass. Aroma of herbal garden mixtures, peach, grass, the nelson hop is all over of course. Taste of an assortment of fruit and garden vegetable. Not too overly hopped smack for a dipa, but the hops seem to slide in after and glaze the pallate with bitterness. Dry white grapes, pine, grapefruit, and some white wine characteristics flourish as well. A diff approach for the style, but fun, interesting, and enjoyable. I’m missing a hop slap though.
