This giant imperial rye stout is the result of our collaboration with the Danish brewers from ToØl. In true Danish style, it is austere and utterly humorless. Deep in the heart of its double mash lies a cornucopia of dark, flavorful malts. The discerning palate will detect chocolate, rye, biscuit, and faint peat notes in each sip. The raw power of Magnum and Chinook hops were used to battle this beer into a variety of different woods. Most of the batch aged in used bourbon barrels, but some of it saw scotch barrels, port barrels, ash, hickory, red oak, white oak, cherrywood, and more. Check your keg for what wooded nectar is in your glass.

Growler shared by Dr Silverworm. Poured a clear reddish brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly diminished with little lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate and wood alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate malt and alcohol flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.

Taster on tap at Party Town, and later a growler fill shared 2 days later. Nearly pitch black color. Thin light brown head. Couple dots of lace. Dark chocolate rye whiskey in the nose. Awesome vanilla, light spicy barrel notes, rich dessert cake type flavors. Lighter roast malt, bigger body. Good, huge chewiness. Light creamy carbonation. Velvety smooth. Moderate bitter, moderate sweet, light alcohol warmth. Delicious, fantastic big BA imperial stout. Originally scored this a 4.3, but when I had time to really appreciate a growler’s worth later I noticed a light acidic sweet bite in the finish that I didn’t get from the taster... Still very tasty overall, though, and everyone I shared it with seemed to very much enjoy it

Growler to snifter (shared by DrSilverworm). Looks good; a mostly opaque and fairly opaque dark coffee with thin light beige lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, coffee, and a bit of roast. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant mouthfeel. Good beer!
