COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Clean, crisp and malty German style lager. This style originated in Vienna, Austria and is exhibits the light copper color and toasty flavor and aroma of Vienna malt. The German noble hops Hallertau and Tettnager are used to balance this lager’s malty profile. Against the Grain specifically brewed this beer for Chicago Craft beer week, drawing inspiration from the most notable accomplishment from the windy city...the hot dog.

Pours dark brown with deep nutty malt notes. The malt notes become Ben more complex when the hops balance it out. Nice easy finish. Draft at Old Town Social.

Enjoyed on tap at Lillie’s Q in Chicago, IL while eating some BBQ with family. This stuff was just OK in my opinion. Appearance was a dark murky brown with not much head. Aroma of malt, syrup. Taste was a bit buttery, syrupy as well, lightish carbonation, just an average brew in my opinion.

At Rockwells. A little watery in the body but with a buttery slickness. Buttery roasted flavors as well. Serving: Tap

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and floral hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish that was moderate in duration. This is a solid beer for style.

Aroma was very nutty with a little cider and nougat. Appearance was dark copper with bone head. ATG brought back their butterscotch yeast, and it works very well here; the malts are nutty and the finish is herbal/resin. Palate is creamy and bubbly. Quite tasty.

Tap. Caramel malt aroma - light. Amber color with small head. Sweet toffee malt and light herbal hops flavor. Very nice - one of the best Viennas I’ve ever had. Nice hoppiness.
