3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Pours black with tan head and lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, and citrus hops. Flavor is hop forward, roasted malty chocolate notes. Fairly light effervescent body, more like IPA body than a porter or Stout body.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Super dark Black IPA / Cascadian Dark Ale. This beer was the strongest they had one tap (now 7.5% alcohol). One of their better beers.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from tap to tulip. Jet black hue with light tan head that lingered in a thick ring. Aroma is melon, ginger, pepper, straw, umami. Mouthfeel is great with a medium body and good carbonation which makes it velvety soft on the palate. Taste is clean and dry with a nice bitterness followed by a slight astringentness and CO2 kick in the finish. Overall this is a very nice brew that would complement many foods and seasons. Very nice.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft, Bier Stein, Eugene. Pours dark black, aroma is deep, dark, dank and resinous. Body surprisingly syrupy and rich. Finish is SO bitter! I don’t know, maybe it’s a disconnect between expecting a certain something from a dark beer, but this really didn’t sit all that well with me. Agrarian has done well with some of their other beers, but I’m not head over heels about this one, just too much herbal hoppiness with which to contend.
