At Leuven Innovation Beer Festival, where the brewer had to hold the bottle almost a yard above the glass to force a head to form... A moussy, thick, off-white but obviously unstable head was the result. Hazy orange blonde beer with very fruity, vinous aroma , lots of grape peel, strawberry, orange, flowers, honey, some tannins (perhaps the seeds of the grapes); light sourish and very vividly fruity taste, grapes obvious, totally flat mouthfeel like an unblended lambic, quite complex with sweetness and acidity nicely balanced, dry sourish finish with some grape peel bitterishness. Interesting.

Bottle at Pedale, Madrid, may 2013; Merlot, vintage 2012
Cloudy orange-amber color with small head. Served in porron (special decanter).
Very nice aroma, vinous, very woody, a bit fruity, tart; it reminds me of BFM. Soft and undercarbonated mouthfeel; nice flavor, some soft malts and an impression of toffee; moderate tart feeling, with ordinary bitterness, and clear grapey feeling. Some orange peel.
A bit too bitter for this kind if beer, but overall it’s an excellent one.

Shared with fiulijn @ El Pedal. Hazy orange colour with minimal white head. Aroma is sourish, with wine and wood notes. Flavor is fruity with hints of peach, citrus, apple, bittery at the beginning with a sour and vinegar sensation in the mouth, slightly hints of wood. The final is vinegar and slightly bittery.

Botella de 750ml –etiquetada cómo Barrica2011-. Vaso Tumbler. 750ml bottle – labelled as Barrica2011- Tumbler glass. Enjoyed on jan´13 – after being stored for more than a year in my underground cellar-. Orangish gold color, quite veiled appearance. White froth, close crown, fairly good retention.Spots on sides & lasting layer on top. Fresh fruit aromas – pineapple & orange- hints of wood & fresh bread to the nose. Bitter upfront followed by sweet sourness & gentle maltiness. Subtle touches of citric fruit juice – orange & grapefruit- Light to medium body. Soft carbonation. Citrics linger into a dry finish & arise on the aftertaste. Great & refreshing beer where “bugs” are evident but perfectly balanced by flavorful hops & mildy maltiness. Very easy drinkability. Perfect pairing with black rice paella & blue cheese.

Bottle of the 2011 courtesy of Paul as the first drink of TAPNY weekend. Pours a hazed golden amber with a thin white head. Floral at first, nice wood notes as well. Spicy and sweet, toast and acid. Nice funk, toast, long lemon, big bitterness. Spicy lemon, and long funky finish.
