Biere ambrée. Peu petillante. C’est fort fort malté. Ca me fait penser à une biere type anglaise. Ca m’a gouté un peu plus l’alcool alors que c’est léger Ca reste bien amer. Bien sec. Bien amer sur le grain/ A regouter au soleil

Tasted on tap @Ale&Hop, Barcelona, in June 2012. Aroma is quite pleasant, as well as the taste. Aftertaste is a proper hoppy bitter. Recommended. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie, caramel), lightly to moderately hoppy (apricot, flowers), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of dried mango, mandarin orange, light note of oxidation (cardboard). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Another winner, although this is probably not the freshest sample (evidenced by a touch of oxidation). These beers need to start being shipped straight from the brewery to my house.

Crimson with rusty highlights. Pasty dirty-white head exhibits good retention. Potently phenolic and estery nose comprised of dried strawberry, pecan skin, leather, breadcrust, black licorice, apricot, butter toffee, plum jam, dried leaves. Heavenly saliva-inudcing dusty yeast character. Soft, natural carbonation. Upfront burst of plasticlike phenols is curtailed by remarkably clean, lush and dextrinous British malt character. Robust breadcrust edginess accentuates the firm pale malt-derived cookielike snap which contrasts with the bouncier vanilla and toffee-glazed-nut base. Wonderfully deep, fat, and creamy malt. Peppery hops lend subtle appetizing acids along with a rustic twinge of autumn leaves and soft tealike flavors. Ripe red plum flesh and dried leather contribute more lift and drinkability while hops steadily tease with a gently coarse earthy bitterness. Finishes flawlessly balanced and cleanly attenuated with a sassafras root dryness kissed with succulent esters and prolonged beefy malt. A deceptively simple beer, which means most folks here likely won’t give it a second glance. Which is unfortunate considering how rare it is to find these foundational styles so well-balanced, devoid of flaw, and endlessly drinkable. But hats off to Masia Agullons for doing just that.

Nothing really special. Hazy golden body with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy (citrus, grassy) with some biscuits. Refreshing, nothing more.

2/24/12. 750mL bottle. Hazy orange-ish pour with a nice khaki head that fades to a ring. Slightly fruity aroma with a bit of citrus, minerals, earthy hops, and dry malts. Malty, almost papery flavor with touches of citrus, must, and minerals. Meh.
