Refrescante y nada pesada. Un perfecto referente del Estilo American Brown Ale. 500ml Bottle served in a Pint Glass.Enjoyed on Jul´11 Pours dark copper in color, bright brown to the light. Haze body & yeast in supension. Light beige froth, big bubles & moderate retention. Some lacing flakes left on sides. Dark malts, subtle hoppy profile & hints of chocolate on nose. Slightly notes of dry nuts & smooth bitternes on palate. Medium body & correct carbonation. A very very low citric underneath character yields to toasted malts & mildy caramel on the aftertaste.Finishes as beggings, a very well balanced malty & hoppy flavor & aroma. Diacetils are not shown. Very good drinkability. Refreshing & not fat at all. A perfect spot of the American Brown Ale Style.

Draft sampled @ Chez Moeder Lambic // thx to ajax25g // light brown with a tanned bubbly head // smell is sweet, definetly candy sugar, touch faro-like; caramel, fruity, definetly smell better than it taste but taste is far from bad // taste is sweet, candy sugar in here, faro-esque (no sourness here, just the kind of sweetness of a faro), caramel malts, spices, nuts, hint of lipton ice tea // soft carb, touch too light body for me // not bad, seems like Spain is coming up these days, will Spain become the new Italy? It is possible

Caramel, amber malt, chocolate aroma with a bit of tang and grassy hops. Big, smooth, luscious malt flavor with grape, chocolate, earthy, grassy, hops, nuts, some tartness. Ow carbonation. Long, tingly hop finish. Very interesting and quite nice.

( 37.5cl bottle thanks to bu11zeye lot 008 marked 12-09) Pours deep red-brown with great thick head that lasts forever. Nose of bread/yeast, cardboard, and alcohol. Taste of champagne, grapes, alcohol and a very dry vinous finish.

Appearance: dark mahogany brown, decently opaque, with a creamy light tan head. Aroma: caramel, toffee, nuts, dark bread, with a hint of citrus. Taste: roasty, with a hint of chocolate and coffee, definite notes of chestnuts, maybe some nougat, with a litte more bitterness as it warms. Finish: slightly hoppy, slightly bitter, and clean. Notes: Perfectly acceptable, even good, brown ale. Palate was creamy and smooth, flavors were extremely balanced. Solid, but not world-changing. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

this is what an American brown ale wants to be. Lots of hops, tons of backbone. Awesome shit. Drank with Kyoto Lefty.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic, Fontainas. Continuing the crusade for better Castilian beers, the beer sort of reminded me of a light Black IPA.

Pours unclear mahogany dark brown with a decent off white head. The flavor starts out with sweet and nutty maltiness, almost like iced tea, and then ends with some bitterness. The body is medium.

Draught - Bruxellensis Festival - There was a lot of confusion about the Agullons beers as the brewer who was working there didn’t apeak English (nor French, nor Dutch). By the time we got to him on the Sunday it was clear that only one of the advertized beers was available but we couldn’t get confirmation which one it was and what its replacement was. However a Female colleague of his appeared later who did speak English. She confirmed that there was no Pura Ale left. I am not sure what time this ran out but certainly us from England or anyone who arrived later did not have the Pura Ale, but the Bruno. This brown ale was on instead. This is a dark brown beer with a nice ring of off-white head. The aroma is dark fruits and a little roasted malt and a little chocolate. The taste is nice and nutty. Caramel flavours, dark fruits and roasted malts. Late on a hoppiness reveals itself. Very decent and drinkable.

Bottle from The Cracked Kettle, AMS. Dark brown underneath an enormous tan head. Vinous caramel aroma. In the mouth tart berries and dry chocolate blend well with a semi-dry finish. Nice.
