COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottled, from Cervezorama, Madrid. Hazy golden, no head. Funky brett aroma. Mid dry with light-medium body. No acidity, but really funky with sweaty dill and cooked seafood. Spritzy, complex and rustic, yet with elegance. Light salty finish. Really interesting stuff.

In short: A unusual funky tart fruity farmhouse pale ale. Fun beer
How: From a bottle at Hill Farmstead Farmhouse Saison Festival 2012
The look: Medium-cloudy amber body topped by a bubbly small white head
In long: Nose is on the dirty side of brett (musty, horse blanket, etc.) and some tart lemon-ish fruity notes. Taste is little sweet at first, funky, a bit tart, citrusy, a bit oaky, a dry finish. Funky and relatively tart/acidic but not really sour. Carbonation is rather smooth. I thought this beer tasted like the juice of fresh sweet McIntosh apples blended with a young lambic and some citrusy hops essence, if that makes any sense. One of the too many beers I had at this Saison festival, I now go to beer festivals with a suicide note in my front pocket so if I drink myself into an alcohol induced coma it will look intentional instead of just stupid.

On tap at Moeder Lambic. Hazy dark orange colour with a nice formation of an off-white head. Tarty aroma, caramel, sour, peach and yeast. Flavour is moderate sweet but also with acidic hints. The final is sourish and dry. Carbonation is soft. Body is medium. Texture is moderate oily.

Sampled at THE FESTIVAL in MA. pours a hazy, cloudy golden amber body with thick white lacing. Aroma is funky fruits, bright tartness and dust. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of slight Brett, lots of funk, sour fruit, acid and dusty basement.

Pouring at The Festival in Worcester. Pours a hazed gold with a thin to medium sized white head. Bright funk and acid on the nose. Sweet caramel. Medium bodied, bright acidity into big funk. Not overly bretty, but it is present. Gentle musk and funk, light cheesy notes. Long brett, and funky acid. Lovely.

750ml bottle. Chalice glass. Enjoyed on dec´11. Pale golden in color. Brief head, white in color. Acid green apples & pears aromas with fresh grass notes. Slightly sweet malty upfront then gentle acid flavor with subtle tartiness. Light body full flavor. Soft carbonation. Grapes, cask-wood & lemon zest into the finish. Hints of grapefruit. Aftertaste carrries astringent lemon. Very well balanced flavors & aromas. Delicious.
