This was overall a pretty tasty porter. Nice lingering flavors of chocolate mocha, with some toasted malt, and a surprising bit of hops in there as well. Tasty.

Draft at pub. Black with tan head. Roasty scent and taste. A bit thin but still decent.

This was kind of a disappointment. Very light bodied with very small carbonation levels, very tame roastiness with small amounts of chocolate and a hint of dark roasted coffee. Very thin and bland.

Growler on St. Patrick’s Day. I was told this was Aiken Porter. Dark pour. Almost no head though. No idea how long this was in the growler. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate, and bitter coffee. Taste is dark chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Body is medium with light to no carbonation. Ends with more roasted malts, dark chocolate coffee and subtle hop bitterness.

GABF. Roasty aromas off this dark porter. Flavors fell off a bit. Some coffee, maybe, but not a lot. Somewhat dissapointing

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2008 Draft. Opaque black with a creamy and lasting head. Aroma of earthy-spiced chocolate and coffee. Flavors of chicory coffee, chocolate, charred wood, and earthy oak. Light-medium bodied, smooth and dryish.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2006 Tap. Coffee, chocolate and ash aroma. Opaque black-brown color with small film of a head.. Smooth dark chocolate flavor with a mild astringent finish. Very full flavored porter - very well made.

On tap at the BBB in Augusta: Nice dark color with thick tan head. Aroma is rich and roasty with an emphasis on malt. Very smooth, caramely sweet and full body with a roasted lingering finish. A nice porter.

Black with tan head & lacing. The aroma has some old hops along with light roastyness and a creamy mocha flavor. Very refreshing porter with balance & slight oxidation. Alcohol bite.
