Draft at brewer. Deep red almost black pour with a nice tan head. Scent is sweet malts, sugar and light roastiness. Taste is sweet malts and a tinge of smoke.

Nutty brown color. Faint aroma with some sweetness and a little musty. Flavor is more reminiscent of a porter when we are supposed to be in a scotch ale roasty maltiness. Some candi sugar that is a little more true to style.

Appearance: Pours a nearly clear, dark brown-amberish body with a small-sized, beige-colored head.
Smell: Sweet-scented aroma with predominate malty notes of dark caramel cubes, toasted bread, and earthy grains. Notable note of ripe, juicy plums. Slight nuttiness.
Taste: Sweet upfront maltiness tasting of dark caramel slathered over crusty dark bread and raw grains. Deep plum-like fruitiness throughout. Additional hits of caramelized sugars with secondary taste of peanut brittle. Modestly bitter midway through. Small, quick hint of yeast prior to the sweetish, warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Very slight chewiness to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Solid, pleasant, appropriately malt-forward Wee Heavy out of Aiken. Definitely good for a few snifters out of the growler.

Draft pint at the brewpub. Clear, darkish brown with a small ring of bubbles. Light aroma is earthy toffee. Flavor is molasses, earthy grain, light alcohol, hints of bubblegum. Some musty grass-woodsy bittering also. Medium body is chewy but not syrupy, smooth with light carbonation, and slightly tingly and dryish. Nice drips of lacing left behind.
