UPDATED: AUG 1, 2004 slightly estery aroma, otherwise rather neutral. Brown golden orange ( abit muddled up. Rye bread edges, vanille, clove, peppery finish - surprisingly lightbodied. A somewhat unharmonic beer, their Kumulus is far better.

Draft in the biergarten. Looks, smells and tastes like every other dunkelweizen on the planet. Medium body. Boring.

Muddy brown haze, slender beige lid. Dank yeasty apple peel, earth and mildew. Banana and beans aroma, nutty and vegetal. Pepper, clove and toffee apple chiming in also. Soily, beansprouty dampness. Unique...erm, dunkelweizen? A dab of vinegar on the nose. Agricultural homebrewish English dankness and dunked biscuit not quite hitting the spot as a dunkelweizen, but that is the intended style. (My airport scrawl mentions Rugby Victorious). Has the feel of an end-of-festival English mild or bitter, a bit gritty and damp. Enjoyed it once I put my stylistic preconceptions aside, and the Airbrau beers in general deserve to be considered as more than a running-for-the-gate afterthought when visiting Munich.

Tap at Terminal 2. Watery Dunkelweizen. Some slight cereal, wheatgerm flavour, but not enough.
