The Pre-Flight Pilsner is a pre-prohibition style pilsner, fuller in body with a distinct, spicy hop presence, attributed to the Hallertauer and Saaz hops used to brew it. Offering 5.0 percent ABV and 30 IBUs, it’s perfect for the next time you’re assigned that middle seat on a cross-country red-eye.

On tap at Airways, pours a clear dull blonde with a small white head. Aroma and flavour are pretty crisp, with crackery malt, toasted bread, and a touch of sweet cereal malt. Really well-made. Highly drinkable. Very nice.

Corny and grainy aroma. Flavor is similar to the aroma. There is a distinct overly bitter flavor that comes in the middle and persists in the finish unpleasantly. It has a crisp palate, carbonation is medium and satifies, but this brew just overpowers with hop flavor and bitterness to make it Sessionable.

Can. Pours clear yellow color with a pretty huge frothy white head on it. Nose has some corn and grains in there, but nothing particularly exciting about it. Taste has a longer lasting sweetness that takes away any crispness, with an odd bitter aftertaste. Not my thing.

On tap at Beer Mongers - Pours fairly clear yellow with a white head. The aroma has light dough, pale pils malt and hints of spice. It’s fairly malt forward. It has a medium / light body with mild crispness. The flavor starts off with drier pils malt than the aroma with spice, crackers and some dustiness (in a good way somehow). The finish has lots of spice, hints of dried grass and crunchy leaves. Nice dry pils.

Light clear gold under a thin foamy white head. The nose is a bit light and grainy with some light esters. Flavor was pretty doughy and blonde-ish with a firm finish of lightly bitter grassy hops.

Can from Bob’s.

Despite the fact that I like them, I haven’t been drinking all that many pilseners lately, so it’s kind of a special thing to crack one open and sip away at something quite different than the usual IPA, saison, or Belgian ale. Light gold pour with a huge fluffy white head into my stemmed Stella glass. The aroma is, well, Pilsener. Grassy Saaz hops, perfumy wildflowers, mixed together with the sort of sour skunky thing that one gets all too often with bottled/canned examples of this style. Flavor: cracker malts (stone ground wheat thins!) turning a touch sweet in the finish -- honeysuckle -- before yielding to the aggressively hopped bitterness at the close, in a way that signals American Microbrewery Pils. Well carbonated, foaming up again on the tongue. This is a pretty decent beer, even if it does favor muscle over balance.

Decent pre pro pils. Solid malt backbone with wholesome notes of bread dough, earth and a honey-ish sweetness. Spicy hops with a healthy bitterness.

Draft @ Airways. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of bready pils malt, hay, noble hop and light corn. Flavor is more bready malt, firmly bitter with a clean yeast profile. Light body, crisp and refreshing. Excellent beer for the style.
