3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Appears black with an initially large but quickly disappearing head, and in the end little carbonation. Pleasant enough roasty flavors and a little bitter chocolate did not quite do the trick balancing out too much sweetness.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at NCBC. Pours jet black with a loose and wispy tan head. Big ashy sooty chimney nose. Very black-patent-heavy. Creamy medium body, going a bit watery here and there. Undercarbed a bit. Super ashy mid palate, long dark finish. Appealing enough for a start but needs a lot more different flavor components to balance out the ash/patent bit.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black bodied with a sparse, airy head and little carbonation. Sooty, black patent nose segues into a roasty, robust porter flavor accented again by sooty notes and powdery black patent malt.
