Dunkelbraun, der Schaum ist schnell verschwunden. Das typ. würzmalzige Aroma eines Dunklen, allerdings mit leichter Lakritznote. Im Geschmack sehr ähnlich. Nicht mein Geschmack.

(bottle) pours a clear ruby-amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of milk chocolate, cherries, light tobacco and treacle, with a hint of bubble gum. flavour is mostly roasted malts and light butter, slightly barnyardy, with a prominent toffee sweetness and some burnt toast in the finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

swing-top bottle, best by December 2012. dark cola brown body with a small off-white head. strongly metallic nose with solvent and paint-like yeast notes in addition to the requisite brown malt and light cola scents expected in dunkel. husky toasted malt flavor with mild metal and yeast. simple flavor, sorta watery all around, and a little too oxidized.

Swing-top by 18.09.12. Nose very mild, straight up Munich, pours a dark, cloudy mahogany with heavy ruby highlights and a lacing, sudsy tan head. Thin, watery body, primarily tangy, to the detriment of any sweetness or bitterness. Light red fruits around the edges.

Bottled. Copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is mild toasted notes, some herbs caramel and some mild berries. Flavour is toasted, mild caramel and some mild wooden and resiny notes. Pleasant dunkel.

Part of the Nurnberg Beer Raid 2011. On tap at the 14.Fränkisches Bierfest in Nurnberg, Germany. Poured deep mahogany color with a white head. Aroma is caramel and roasted malt, flavor similar, roasted malt leading to a slightly dry finish. Really nice dunkel, very drinkable.

It’s mahogany-red with a creamy head, and the aroma has notes of caramel and citrus. The flavour is moderately sweet and soft with notes of roasted malt, light syrup, caramel, fruit and citrus in the dry finish.

500ml bottle (at 4.7%) @ Christmas tasting on 28 December 2010. Old bottle, not sure where from. Dark copper colour. A little sweetish. Some roast notes and caramel. Not bad considering the age but flagged for re-rate.
