Bügelverschlußflasche: Chestnut-amber coloured, lacy small white head, all in all a bit unclear; sweetish-sourish - a bit chocolatey, a bit toasty nose with a light mineralic touch; very soft, almost medium bodied; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour; an increasing chocolatey touch in the moderate, almost lingering sweet-bitter finish. Decent Dunkel........

Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JUN 26, 2011
Part of the Nurnberg Beer Raid 2011. On tap at the 14.Fränkisches Bierfest in Nurnberg, Germany. Poured deep mahogany color with a white head. Aroma is caramel and roasted malt, flavor similar, roasted malt leading to a slightly dry finish. Really nice dunkel, very drinkable.

It’s mahogany-red with a creamy head, and the aroma has notes of caramel and citrus. The flavour is moderately sweet and soft with notes of roasted malt, light syrup, caramel, fruit and citrus in the dry finish.

500ml bottle (at 4.7%) @ Christmas tasting on 28 December 2010. Old bottle, not sure where from. Dark copper colour. A little sweetish. Some roast notes and caramel. Not bad considering the age but flagged for re-rate.

Bottle 500ml. w. swing top @ ChrisOs - Christmas Tasting.

Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, dusty, raisin notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101228]

Grima (1572) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JAN 18, 2011
In the glass is a dark, nutty brown beer with a flat head. It smells revealed subtle roasted malt, slightly sweet also. The Dunkel starts bittermalty with delicate nuances of coffee. The aftertaste is also sustained bitter, with light roasted notes. The center part is a little spicy, a delicate sweet note comes through, it is something coffee-like.

ChrisOs Christmas Tasting. Clear brown beer, ghost of a white head. Slightly tart malt, coca cola and some generic fruit. Finishes crisp. This BBE Sept 08 bottle has survived pretty well.

Bottle at Chris NY Tasting 2010. Clear dark brown colour with lasting beige. Bit of must and malt on aroma. Some ok malt but mustiness puts me off. 2008 bottle.

SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - JAN 23, 2010
500ml swing-top bottle from BeersofEurope. Softly carbonated and rather dull malty/bread tasting lager. It’s OK, but it just goes into the mouth, sits there for a bit, picking its toenails, and then slides down the throat leaving a slightly muddled malt taste and an echo of hop bitterness. Some strange memory of the sea - a bit of salt, a tang of seaweed, and a soggy brown-bread crab sandwich on the dunes.

Bottle. Brown with thin white head that faded very quickly. Very little aroma, little bit of roasted malt. Definite mineral hint and a touch of metal too. Little watery for my liking. Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t like this at all.
