Bottle: dark golden, almost amber and still, yet with the big airy head common to Aksarben. Big musty caramel aroma. The sweetness almost resonates as a sour flavor with just a whiff of caramel underneath. Can’t say I enjoyed this very much.

In the bottle at the brewpub. Since this is the true style of most of the lager yeast beer made at the Ak, they have a lot of practice on this one. Dark gold with a big ivory head. The aroma is a little bit citrusy from the hops. Has a smooth palate and low carbonation. Flavor is a bit toasted caramel. Good level of malt and an interesting fruity finish. Not too bad.
