Sledge Jr (2708), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Apr 18, 2006 Updated: Apr 12, 2007On tap at the brewpub. Pours a saffron gold with a beautiful thick white creamy head. A near-perfect appearance for the style when served vom fass. Has a slight lemony tart aroma. Sweet up front with a smooth mellow palate. Not watery at all for the style. Has a mild bitter finish. UPDATE 4/2007: Way better beer. Pours a deep gorgeous golden yellow with a super rich-looking prominent white head. Has a nice pilsner-like straw aroma. Good aromatic Cascade hops in this one. The flavor has a mild, yet established citrus. Interesting tart, straw-like, and bisquit flavors. This is a very well-made golden lager. Great white lacing remains in the cup. It pretty much tastes like a German pilsner that uses American hops. My rating improves from a 2.7 to a 3.4 Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Feb 27, 2006 From the bottle: the more of these guys’ beers I have, the more they blend together. Again, over carbonation gives it this huge explosion of a shallow head. The orange-gold beer is relatively lifeless. I don’t say this lightly: there is NO aroma here. There’s barely any flavor ... just a hint of starchy malt with just a whisper of a tart finish. Booooring.
