Bottled from my uncle as a present. Poured black with a brown head. Aroma is earth and roasted notes. Flavor is mild chocolate, some bitter coffee, and roasted notes. Not very imperial. The finish has a sweet gummi bear taste to it then fades to a bitter coffee ground taste. Body is very mediocre.

On tap at the brewpub. Flat out black in color with a medium ivory head. Has a carmalized, burnt sugar aroma. This is definitely higher alcohol than most Ak beers, but the similarity to Imperial Stout ends there. Lacks the body of an Imperial. I’d say it is somewhere between a brown and a porter. Has a fine roasted back flavor. This is a pretty good routine brewpub stout, but not much more. However, $1.50 pints make this much more delicious.
