Sledge Jr (2721), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Apr 18, 2006 Updated: Apr 12, 2007In the bottle at the brewpub. Dark gold with a white head. Caramel aroma. Mild carbonation. I’d say this is more between an english style IPA and an ESB. Has a bit of a citrus hop aroma. Good malty and citrus hoppy flavor. Much more flavorful than most of the Ak beers. Finish has that sweet malty tang at the end.
UPDATE 8/11/6: The Brewer now calls this beer "Ken’s IPA."
UPDATE 4/2007: Back to being called just "IPA." Fresh cut grass aroma mixed with a nice caramel scent. Great bitterness and very chewy. I think it has continued to improve. I raise my score from a 3.3 to a 3.5 Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Mar 5, 2006 From the bottle at the brewery: Dark copper with the same big head as all their beers. Fruity malt with a hint of a citric bite. Well balanced, and probably their best offering so far (along with the British Ale).
