Pours a reddish golden color with a creamy tan head. Not sure what this is made with but it tastes similar to a potato ale. The flavor is mildly sweet with a hoppy and bitter finish. Not bad at all. Try it on tap if you can.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a reddish mahogany brown with a yellow-off-white head. The brewer says it has a slight diacetyl aroma, but I can’t tell that it does. I get a mild nutty aroma. Body is very thin. I get a slight banana taste and strong roastedness throughout. Has a nice roasted bitterness to the finish. This is OK, but seems a bit too thin in body for my tastes.

Bottle: Nice dark red and active; this is the first Aksarben brew I’ve had that didn’t present with an artificially fizzy head ... this stands more authentic. There’s just a light roasty aroma. Flavor-wise it’s a crunchy toast flavor wtih a bit of caramel bit and a wisp of almost smokiness. I think this is the best I’ve had from Aksarben yet.
