Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 30, 2006 From a 22 oz bomber: Deep amber with a gluey and airy head. Toasty sugar aroma. Candied malt sweetness is the predominate flavor here, but like almost all Aksarben choice, it finishes with a bubble-gumminess that turns me off.
eboats (824), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 20, 2007 Bottled. This is NOT a belgian. I submitted the correction, but it hasn’t been taken care of yet. They set out to brew this as a belgian, but when they realized it tasted nothing like it they changed the name to The Heater and said it was not a belgian. Poured amber with a dirty white head. Aroma did have some belgian yeast with some sweet pear and plum notes and a hint of cardboard. Sweet malts with some small earth notes made up the flavor profile. Medium body with a slightly tart finish. Sledge Jr (2708), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Feb 17, 2006 Updated: Aug 12, 2006In the bottle. Dark gold to amber with a white head. Nice malty body with a good sour tartness to the midpalate. A candy sweetness also emerges followed bt a slight pepper tingle on the tongue.
UPDATE 8/11/6: New name for this beer- it is now called "The Heater." The owner states it is his best seller. Has a yellow-beige head and pours a butterscotch amber color. A sour and floral complex nose emerges. Some lacing is present. Flavor is fruity and tart. A bit of pepper hits the tip of the tongue. As the beer warms, it has a bit more bitterness and much more of a malty backbone than the previous version. A very pretty beer in the glass. This is an improved product over the previous version.
