3.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 cathcacr (622) - Oregon, USA - JUN 22, 2010Aroma has a toffee aroma to it. Flavor and palate are quite dry, dusty, chalky, with the flavor of unsweetened chocolate. This is one of those stouts that also feels like wood going down into the gut.

651mL thanks to briandot. Pours deep brown to black. Medium, dense mocha foam. Webby to soapy lacing. Nose is salty, soy, lemon, herbal, huge green olive and pimento. Taste is light bodied, very salty, soy, Green olive. Palate is thin, but drinkable, near sessionable. The major olive here isn’t my style but I can see how it won medals for foreign stout.

Bomber. Poured deep brown with a nice cap of medium tan head. The aroma picked up toasted black and coffee notes with accents of cocoa and piney hoppage. The flavor opened with tangy burnt coffee notes, with chocolate and a touch of vanilla bean around.. burnt malts and plenty of pine bitterness on the finish. Very roasty and dry on the palate.. complementary bitterness.. nice one!
