COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With an appealing amber color, this brew has a perfect balance of caramel malt and spicy hop flavors. The Munich malt in this recipe lends a rich mouth feel, while generous additions of Pacific-Northwest hops complete the balance. Try a pint of Pale with the Salmon Gyros, Falafel or Alameda Dip.

Dark orange, large frothy off white head. Carmel and toffee aromas. Medium body, mild hop bitterness with more at the finish. Good. Fat Tire’ish.

22oz. bottle from John’s Market. Pours a moderately opaque, deep amber color. Big assed off-white head issues forth and slowly recedes, fantastic lacing. Wonderful "C" hop aroma, lightly floral, moderately citric. Body is just a bit disappointing. Not terrifically light but seemingly missing something, hard to describe but there. Flavor is nicely balanced with some caramel sweetness and a moderate hop bitterness and flavor. Decently done, scoring higher if it didn’t have that void.

Burnt auburn in color, small creamy head that fades quickly. Nice hop nose, with some sweet maltiness coming through as well. Full of grapefruit, this is extremely thirst quenching. Has a great bite up front that fades into a smooth clean finish. Very well balanced.

(Draft: Alameda Brewing Co. in Portland, OR) The blandness continues at this brewpub. The aroma is gently hoppy, and lightly sweet and caramely, but reasonably acceptable. However, the flavor is once again too generically "beer". Sweet, lightly malty, somewhat bitter, it just sits tiringly on the palate. Golden in color, slightly hazy, small off-white head fades away to nothing. Still hoping for better from this brewpub.

Deep amber with some orange highlights. Caramel malts combined with a healthy dose of hops. Hops weren’t very bitter, though. Overall, not too exciting, but rather drinkable.

Tap. Amber, small head. Rather mild but drinkable. Some cascades, a bit of bubblegum flavor. Little discernerable aroma.

I thought that this was a pretty subdued American Pale Ale. Not bad, but nothing that would grab you.

Maybe it was just a bad pint, but I thought the beer was a little bland in taste. Could have been I was comparing it to the previous glass of their IPA. Probably a decent beer. Looks nice and smells good, but the flavor falls a little short.

Amber pour with a small head and sparse lacing. Nice balance of citrus and floral hops in the aroma along with some maltiness. Very well balanced flavors. The malt and hops blend together very well leaving you with just a touch of alcohol. Nice body. Hoppy palate with a bitter finish. Very good pale ale.
