COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With an appealing amber color, this brew has a perfect balance of caramel malt and spicy hop flavors. The Munich malt in this recipe lends a rich mouth feel, while generous additions of Pacific-Northwest hops complete the balance. Try a pint of Pale with the Salmon Gyros, Falafel or Alameda Dip.

(Draft: Alameda Brewing Co. in Portland, OR) The blandness continues at this brewpub. The aroma is gently hoppy, and lightly sweet and caramely, but reasonably acceptable. However, the flavor is once again too generically "beer". Sweet, lightly malty, somewhat bitter, it just sits tiringly on the palate. Golden in color, slightly hazy, small off-white head fades away to nothing. Still hoping for better from this brewpub.

I thought that this was a pretty subdued American Pale Ale. Not bad, but nothing that would grab you.

On tap at the brewery. Lighter amber in color with a small white head. Light citrus hops in the nose with a soft caramel malt base. Decent and balanced, but the hops weren’t floral enough to really stand out with some of the other pales available in the market.

Burnt auburn in color, small creamy head that fades quickly. Nice hop nose, with some sweet maltiness coming through as well. Full of grapefruit, this is extremely thirst quenching. Has a great bite up front that fades into a smooth clean finish. Very well balanced.

660ml brown bottle. Dark golden pour with light haze and a low sitting slightly frothy whitish cap. The nose has some citrus hops and some sweet malts as well. Taste has caramel malts, some fruitiness, citrus hops. Caramel and toasted malt finish with some nice late bitterness. Overall, a malt heavy APA, very quaffable.

Draught. Poured deep amber with thin white head. Aroma of flowers and citrus. Flavour was hoppy, hoppier than a pale, but not so much as an India. Full mouthfeel. Lasting malt finish with more hoppiness.

drpimento (2152) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 12, 2012
Poured at a good temperature with a nice, foamy, frothy, off-white head that settled after a bit and some lace. Color is a slightly hazy, dark amber. Aroma is very mild, slightly malt and hop. Flavor’s like nose, carbonic tang up front, followed immediately by bitter/sweet, a hint roast. Body and carbonation good. Finish is like flavor, on the short side, and forgettable.

Light, but floral goppy aroma. Golden-orange in color. Flavor is lightly hoppy though a bit watery. Notes: GABF ’09

The Klickitat Pale Ale is a very drinkable deep amber pale with a hazy copper body and a floral caramel taste. A little thin in the finish. Creamy, malty (for a pale) and overall pretty good.
