With an appealing amber color, this brew has a perfect balance of caramel malt and spicy hop flavors. The Munich malt in this recipe lends a rich mouth feel, while generous additions of Pacific-Northwest hops complete the balance. Try a pint of Pale with the Salmon Gyros, Falafel or Alameda Dip.

354ml can from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Amber brown, clear, with only a tiny bit of visible carbonation and resultant head. Nose is bursting with pine resin. I don’t get much else - maybe a hint of woodchips- so this a hells rsinous beverage. Taste is less intense. The bittersweet malt/hops balance overrides the savoury piney element. Surprising bitter note in the aftertaste. Pretty good.

Can from Coppers, Newcastle. Hazy dark amber in colour with a thin white head. It has a red fruit and spicy tropical fruit flavour with a smooth, creamy bitter orange and pine finish.

Maybe it was just a bad pint, but I thought the beer was a little bland in taste. Could have been I was comparing it to the previous glass of their IPA. Probably a decent beer. Looks nice and smells good, but the flavor falls a little short.

22oz. bottle from John’s Market. Pours a moderately opaque, deep amber color. Big assed off-white head issues forth and slowly recedes, fantastic lacing. Wonderful "C" hop aroma, lightly floral, moderately citric. Body is just a bit disappointing. Not terrifically light but seemingly missing something, hard to describe but there. Flavor is nicely balanced with some caramel sweetness and a moderate hop bitterness and flavor. Decently done, scoring higher if it didn’t have that void.

Apricot body with modest head and mild hop nose. Easy, quenching hop flavor, some bitterness of fresh hops. A decent APA. Mild sour finish.

Decent session pale ale. Definitely made in more of an English tradition, this is very malt forward, with the hops folowing ever so slightly in the background with some toffee flavors and a buttery herbal hop note in the finish. Exciting enough on the palate to not be boring, but not assertive enough to completely be a palate killer. Extremely drinkable.

Amber with reddish highlights. Plenty of lacings. Nice citrus hps and sweet malts. Not over-done. Excellent Pale Ale. Lists abv of 5%. Perfect session PA. These guys do good work. Recommended. Nice bitter finish.
