COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is brewed in the style of a big, malty English Olde Ale. Hopped with Styrian Goldings in the kettle and fermenter, this ale has a distinct English character. Post fermentation, this beer was aged on Whiskey soaked French white oak spires, lending some tannins and dryness to the huge amount of Crystal malt employed in the grist. You may find hints of toffee, raisins, chocolate or caramel in this dark copper brew.

750 ml bottle with silver wax; thanks Tom!! Clear rosy brown with trace white head; caramel, candy malts, vanilla; texture is flat and thin with faint bourbon sweetness; light oranges and raspberries with vanilla cookies and some chocolate; thinned out across the board and I prefer the base beer

Woody, toasty, chocolate malts, grainy, lightly woody, but mostly base beer and a touch vegetal. Pours murky brown/amber, not much head. Woody, caramel, becomes buttery in parts. Hello? Where is barrel? Wow, what a waste of 15 bucks. Flawed, no barrel. F this.

750ml waxed and capped. Alex, thanks for getting this hand signed beer...you’re the best! Walnut brown with lots of tight egg shell head. Pecans, raisins and brown sugar with some wheat bread malt. Nutty malt with dark grapes and light brown sugar. Bourbon is hidden which I like, but this is a $6-8 looking and tasting bottle that I am sure is $11+.

Thanks riversideak! milk chocolate nose, some poopy topsoil. Soaked wood, toasted marshmallow and a herbal lavender finish.

Had this on tap at the Alameda Brewery. Colour... deep garnet with no head. Nose... sweet malt and....well.... burnt mash, I guess. Palate... gentle CO2, quite malty, oaky, some vanillin, light toffee and some grain-like character to the finish along with some bitterness.

Draft at the brewpub. Dark brown; beige head. Xmas berry scent. Full bodied. Flavors of oak, smooth roast malt, toffee and arguably chocolate. Oak is not strong. Very smooth.

Tap @ Alameda... Poured deep reddish/purple/ruby with a thin beige head. Aroma of malted grains and candy sugars. Lots of malts with earthy grains, oak and vanilla towards the end. Full, malty finish.
