Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 16, 2008 Draft. A very dark amber beer with a thin cream colored head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with notes of over ripe fruit, leading to a dry woody finish. A quite nice old ale. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Jun 5, 2008 This was a beautiful thick and rich, chewy maltbomb that is quite delicous in the chilly winter months of Portland. A tad bit sweet, but not quite to the point of being cloying, just really rich with tons of fruit and candi sugar qualities. Slightly one-dimensional, but still found it to be quite enjoyable. BuckeyeBoy (1113), Boise, Idaho, USA Jan 12, 2008 On Tap at Alameda Brewing Co. Portland, OR Pours out a mahogany color topped with a cream head. A nice tast of brown sugar and roast malts. I wish it was a little thicker. Dubbercody (164), Vancouver, Washington, USA Dec 2, 2006 On Tap at Holiday Ale Festival Winter 2006 batch
Thick chewy beer that’s malty, sweet and a bit roasty chocolate with an apparent alcohol taste. Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Mar 1, 2006 Dark reddish-brown colour. Sticky with lots of dark fruit (cherry, plum, raisin). A bit sugary/syrupy in the body. Sweet, chewy finish. Overwhelming, one-dimensional sweetness.
