Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Aug 9, 2003 Hazy amber color, again no head on this one. Great balance between the bitterness and the maltiness. Dry finish, a little earthy. Good. BückDich (4540), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 4, 2004 Syrupy amber color with no head or lacing. The aroma is semisweet with little hops showing through, very noble though. The flavor is balanced toward an english style with lots of focus on the balance & malts. Finishes smooth too! good esb, true to the style. DA (2421), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Apr 29, 2005 On cask at the Horsebrass. Pours a dark copper/mahogany with a bubbly off-white head and tons of hops throughout. Very nice toasty caramel sweetness up front that gets quickly taken over by the big hop finish. Lots of bitterness trails of in the finish. A good big-hopped ESB. aceofhearts (1373), San Francisco, California, USA Jul 20, 2004 Tap. Amber, slightly hazy. Mild and malty, clean finish, not bad. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 5, 2004 Cloudy amber with no head or lacing really. Light malts with some hops in the aroma. Big malt flavors come out more. Flor and bitter hops show themselves as well. Big body and a nice bitter finish. Decent bitter.
