3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught @ Apex, Portland.
Pours hazy golden color with small head. Aroma of grass, butter, mild pale malts, fruits and hops. Flavour of fruits, hops, toffee notes, hay and caramel. The aroma is more like of a pils, decent.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Murky sap color, light lacing that lingers throughout. Citrus-floral nose with a little sour cream. Pleasant effervescence. Pronouced hop in the back with just a little resin, but doesn’t hang around. Very drinkable without any harsh alcohol pop. A really fine Imperial IPA.

Mild balanced nose. Nothing stands out at all. Nice yellow color with a white head. Not sure what is going on. Next to no bitterness. Easy to drink, but forgettable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Big blast of citric hoppiness right out of the bottle. Huge head and lively soft carbonation. Lots of lace. Slightly cloudy and dark gold. Bitter with bodacious malt body. Good.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cloudy light gold in color with a small head that disappears quickly. Distinct smell and taste that I can’t place with a non hoppy bitter aftertaste. I think there are better beers out there in the same price range.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
In short: A well malted blonde IPA with assertive grapefruity/grassy hopping. Very good.
How: Bottle 22oz consumed fresh one or two weeks after purchase, bottle forwarded to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a medium white head with medium retention
In long: Nose of citrus fruits, bananas and pine needles. Taste has a lot of soft bready malts, a bit of honey, medium sweetness sensation. The focus of this beer is the hops and they have a strong personality with bitter grapefruits, pine needles and yellowed grass. Bitterness is short and sharp and of medium-high intensity. There is a good amount of sweetness on the attack but it is quickly brushed away by the generous hopping leaving a semi-dry sensation. Nothing original here, I’ve had similar IPAs many many times before, but the execution of this one is superior. The Yellow Wolf, another Darwin prediction, the most successful predator of sheeps feeding in dandelions field, and if you’ve never seen one it is because they are just that damn good.
