Nice dark body with red highlights and is only slightly on the thin side. Aroma is full of roasted nut notes. Flavor was also roasted with coffee and some dark chocolate. Very nice!

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. flavor has more of a burnt quality to it with some coffee but is very watery. Most people on here have enjoyed this one but i think is sub-par. Its to thin to be a good stout.

Tasted 4/14/08. Draft from the brewpub. Dark brown with ruby highlights. Moldy off-white head. Aromas of toffee and anise. Caramel and cola. Touch burnt malts and coffee acidity. Toasty and nice. Medium bodied and mildly cloying. Touch mild hop flavor. Solid.

Draught at Alandale Brewpub. Dark brown with thin off-brown head. Coffee and roasted malts on the nose, more of the same on the tongue and the faintest hint of chocolate, though the coffee wins out in the end. A touch thin but overall not too bad.
