Dogbrick (2228), Columbus, Ohio, USA Feb 29, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. Pours a nearly opaque dark brown color with a dense dark beige head that dissipates slowly. Thin sheet of lacing. The aroma contains coffee and dark malt along with a touch of hops. Medium-bodied with a coffee and dark chocolate flavor, as well as some malt and hops. The finish is sweet malt at first with a mocha finish. Pretty good overall.
thegreenrooster (1490), St.louis, Missouri, USA Jun 24, 2008 Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. flavor has more of a burnt quality to it with some coffee but is very watery. Most people on here have enjoyed this one but i think is sub-par. Its to thin to be a good stout. sneagrams3 (1402), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Apr 15, 2008 Tasted 4/14/08. Draft from the brewpub. Dark brown with ruby highlights. Moldy off-white head. Aromas of toffee and anise. Caramel and cola. Touch burnt malts and coffee acidity. Toasty and nice. Medium bodied and mildly cloying. Touch mild hop flavor.
