COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rye is substituted for some of the barley in the brewing process. The Rye has a very hoppy flavor. This beer is made with 15% Rye Malt. The rye adds a peppery and spicy flavor. It is light amber in color, with a big hop aroma and flavor.

It poured a reddish-orange color with a decent white head. The aroma was caramel and hints of grapefruit. The flavor was very hoppy and malty with a touch of rye, some breadiness, with a decent finish.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear amber-copper color with a medium ivory white head that recedes quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is hops, pine and malt. Medium body with flavors of hops, rye and sweet malt. The finish is mildly hoppy and the rye flavor lingers for a moment. Decent overall, although it would be better if the rye character were more pronounced.

Tasted at the Heritage Festival, St. Louis. Filtered with a bronze golden hue. Bubbled off-white head. Bright hop aromas with an accompaning soggy bready note. Medium bodied with moderate bitterness in the hops. Light but potent. Rather simple hop profile. Decent.

Narnad (1136) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - JUL 13, 2009
Arrived with a golden and light red orange color with a thick frothy off-white head. Aroma is Cascade hops, light piney hops, some grassy notes as well with a sweet caramel malt and light rye nose. Flavor is pretty heavy of pine at first but quickly fades to all rye malt with a light bit of anise in there. Very low on carbonation, density is a moderate amount. Very good brew with the hops and rye very well balance and compliment each other very well.

Pours orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is caramel-covered grapefruit. Flavor is hoppy and bitter, sweet malts underneath with a distinct rye note, warm breadiness, and a dry, clean finish.
