COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

"this is an old standby. always pretty good, never great. nicely balanced, malty brew, with just enough hops to take notice. just about on par with full sail. get it if it’s on sale."

12 oz bottle served in a Lager glass. A: Pours a beautiful an absolutely clear copper color forming a small, thin bubbled and creamy beige head. Medium retention and no lacings left in the glass. A thin layer remains on the top for a long time S: Strong notes of caramel in the nose. Caramel malts, Munich malts. Crispy and bready but a little bit fruity as well. Notes of honey and raisins. Light flowery hops T: Slightly sweet and toffee upfront. Some notes of caramel, crystal and Munich malts. In overall, a slightly sweet and bready taste which is a bit fruity as well. Reminds a Vienna Lager. More to a Lager than to an Ale, IMHO. Very mild hoppy bitterness in the end M: Light, smooth and a bit molasses body. Medium to low carbonation. Caramel and sweet malts in the aftertaste O: Good drinkability. A bit too sweet. Nevertheless, quite pleasant, smooth and easy drinking. Recommended [ BA Review @ 4/25/2014 ]

Pours a crystal clear amber-stained wood color with a fair beige head that settles to a thick film and leaves some touches of soapy lace. Nose involves cherry, date bread, some toasted malt, some green herbal hops, some crusty bread dough. Decently sweet, somewhat bitter. Medium to light body, creamy, fluffy, decent action, finishing toasty, fruity, and dry. Cool brew. In some ways, kind of average with a somewhat muted nose and milder flavor, but in other ways it has some nice character, especially on the palate. Over all, it’s quite enjoyable, priced right, and I would grab more next time I’m in MIchigan.

Really good beer, perfect for the style of Alt. Rich amber color good malty brew, and finishes dry and slightly bitter from hops.

Keg at Aces & Ales, Las Vegas. Clear amber, dying head. Aroma of caramel malts, light woody hops, touch of citrus. Not very intense flavour, some caramel, touch of nuttiness, some hop bitterness. Just kinda bland.

Er, candy. This is very candyish, cloying, bubblegum, there is just not a lot of nuance here. Amber colour. Not my thing at all.

Sampled from a bottle bought at Champanes, this ale had a clear bright red pour with faded brown hues at the sides of the glass, it had an initial two to three finger faint off-white cover from the pour and lowered to thin layer of bubbles with a bit of open area but was lasting, there was no sediment in the bottle, the nose had earth and toasted malt with notes that were similar to melanoidins, faint chocolate and caramel like notes with light citrus hops, some brown sugar and hard candy like sweetness, the flavors of were similar to the aroma but less sweet and a touch more hops, melanoidins, dark toasted malt notes, brown sugar and caramel, the finish had a light hop bitterness with some malt sweetness trailing, the mouth feel was light and a little creamy with average carbonation, a good altbier style drink, it had nice dark malt notes with some earth notes and melanoidins with faint hops, this is a very nice drink.

12 oz from grocery store. This is a Vito fav for ambers. Light but malty, slightly sweet but not cloy like. Could drink 1000 of these. Had these all day on cruise ship up there, turned me on to this style. Love it
