COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

Had on tap at BW3 in Pueblo, CO. Pours amber with white head. Aroma is sweet malts, fruit, and some earthyness. Flavor is sweet malts, nuts, caramel, and a bit or yeast and earthyness. Pretty easy drinker. Nothing complex.

Amber with fluffy off white head. Aroma of yeast, sweet malt, fruit, and some musty notes. Taste is same, some earthy tones. Light to medium body, some light bitter notes in the finish. Good, easy to drink, easy to find.

One of the best beers that is VERY commonly available. A great basic amber. Flavors are subdued, but good tasting overall. No noticeable hop flavor good or bad.

Really pretty beer. Copper like a new penny. Smells malty/caramel - caramel really comes through the taste, quite sweet but not in the sense of candy, malt is forefront, pretty complex, really - think i taste some hazelnut or even oatmeal. Slightly bitter finish. Really a nice beer. I’ll admit to a slight bias due to the ’sense of place’ component - having comsumed dozens of these (only decent tap @ small town bar) on either end of a backcountry float I do in AK every year or two.

copper red. smells and taste like it hasnt travelled too well to NZ. not too bad though. Through the travel odours I get some malt, caramel. Same flavors but a more pronounced slightly burned caramel flavor, quite pleasant. Not much hop flavor or aroma but a well balanced bitterness.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2011 Clear copper amber with a thin tan head and minor lacing. Sticky aroma of caramel, malt and light floral hops. Taste of caramel, toffee, malt, not much else. Low carbonation and sort of ho-hum and blah.

Thanks Shawntana. Amber with a quickly dissipating off white head. Aroma of caramel with some mild bready malts and a hint of nuttiness. Taste of caramel malts, mild fruits with a mild hop finish. A touch over carbonated but went down pretty easy.

On tap at the 2009 NABA. Pours a deep and bright amber color with a large foamy white head. The aroma is sweet caramel malts, light fruitiness and earthy malt. The flavor was similar; easygoing caramel, slightly bready malts and light fruit. Easygoing and very drinkable.

Pours with a fluffy semi-loose head with a lighter amber color. The aroma is coppery with a spicy and sweet malty character with some cinnamon thrown in... cool. The flavor is nutty and roasty (roasted nuts?) with some apple. The beer is largely dry but with a nice caramel backbone and just enough hop bitterness to make it remarkably well rounded. This reminds me a bit of the Uerige Classic. and pears, thoroughly enjoyable.
