Tap at, well I can’t really remember where but I know it was in Las Vegas. Pours a nice copper color with a thick white head. Aroma is nice sweet malt and caramel. Taste is similar, nice caramel touch with sweet malts and a touch of bitterness. Good session brew.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Darkover (1440) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 27, 2009
Hazy dark amber color with a beige head. Aroma and flavor are pretty sweet with caramel and some fruit. Thanks to Dogbrick for the trade.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 glennmastrange (1547) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - APR 26, 2009
Bottle. Light to moderate cookie note for the malt, light herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with cardboard and dried dark fruits in the background. Head is frothy, slightly off-white, with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Flavor starts moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a lively carbonation. Mild overall, but an easy drinking Altbier.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 greig (253) - Hamilton, NEW ZEALAND - APR 24, 2009
Appropriate that I’m drinking this on ANZAC day here in New Zealand. It tastes and smells so much like freshly baked ANZAC biscuits. It’s also the most beautiful looking beer I’ve seen in a long time - a brilliantly clear fiery red-amber, like glowing embers. This might be the perfect autumn session ale. Slightly to high ABV for a session, but still, so moreish. The end of the glass came way too quickly.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mrbirmingham (37) - Kansas, USA - APR 13, 2009
Aroma: It has a subtle malty character.
Appearance: It pours dark amber, brilliantly clear and highly carbonated, you can see the bubbles rise in the glass. It has an off white head that falls quickly.
Flavor: The flavors are subtle and clean, with mild bitterness, and biscuity and malty notes
Mouth feel: A medium light body.
Overall Impression: This is a beer of subtleties. Subtle aroma, subtle flavor and subtle mouth feel. It’s refreshing; almost a lawn mower beer. I prefer beers with more flavors and stronger aroma’s.
It seems to lack the bitterness and dry finish expected of the Altbeir style. These comments do not distract from my overall impression, they are meant as a commentary on hitting the style guidelines.

Bottle from BevMo. Dark amber in color with a beige head. Malty aroma with caramel and some fruity notes. Flavor is sweet caramel malt and a little brown sugar and fruitiness with a tiny bit of hops. Smooth palate, medium body. Decent but unremarkable.
