COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

Bottle. Pours a red-brown color with a large tan head that slowly fades. Aroma is malty, with hints of caramel, hops and is slightly sweet. The taste is much the same and has a dry finish. Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable brew at a fair price that is worth revisiting. Also, as with most of their beers, the label is pretty neat looking.

Draft. Rich, red/brown color with a head that sits on top all the way. Good lacing. Caramel and toffee on the nose. Sweet, a perfect blend of hops and malt, a little sweet. A sticky, full flavored finish. Good stuff.

Pours with a tall, thick, off-white head covering a clear, amber body with light lacing. Aroma of malts and prunes. Taste is of malts and pitted fruits. Creamy mouthfeel with light cabonation. This was in a taste off for a keg at my birthday party (other contestants were Stone Pale Ale, Sierra Nevada, and Boston Lager) this won.

Bottle. Nice, A real treat from Alaska. Now, if only the lower 48 would take note of an American tribute. Best enjoyed with friends on an afternoon football game! Bravo!

App- Amber to dark orange, it has nice clarity and a tan, creamy head. Aroma- Slight grapefruit from the hops, bready malt aroma. Taste- Malt flavor dominates with hop bitterness at the end. Sourness present, with the taste of Granny Smith apples. Mouthfeel- Tart dryness, not astringent. Very good beer, not as balanced as I would like to see, a little too malty.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2008 12oz bottle. Clear copper with a lasting creamy off-whit head. Malty and fruity aroma with some melon and tea, herbs, and grass balancing. The flavor is toffeeish and sweet with only a marginal grassy hop balance. A little yeasty, with low bitterness. medium to light bodied with fizzy carbonation. Just a little to sweet/not hoppy enough for me, but definitely not unpleasant. (3.2) Rerate: Ya, the sweetness gets a little annoying.

This is a tasty, enjoyable, but mild and simple beer. It is reddish copper with a small-medium offiwhite head quickly dissipating to a wispy top with the barest hint of lace. The aroma is pleasant, bread, a little crust, caramel, yeast, hay, and a hint of fruit. The taste is lightly earthy, fruity bread crust, caramel, leafy spiciness. It’s lightly sweet with a zesty dryness in the finish but no real bitterness at all. It’s easy to drink but the character is fairly one-dimensional and there is little aftertaste.

16 oz bottle poured into a Firestone Walker Pint glass. Minimal head; what was there quickly dissipated leaving a thin off white line around the glass. Nice dark amber colour. Nose was citrus which got stronger as it sat. Good flavor with a clean aftertaste. Overall a fine beer. Can’t wait to try a few of their other brews.
